A Little Studio Magic & Two Beautiful New Pencil Cases

There’s a tiny behind‑the‑scenes moment at the start of this week’s video...my camera quietly watching from its tripod as I gather and position my new pencil cases for the shoot. It’s only a few seconds, but it captures the heart of Apricot Moon: the gentle, handmade rhythm of creating something joyful from simple materials.

This week, I’m so excited to share two new pencil cases with you: Kyoto Bloom and Kujaku Ivory. Both designs are inspired by the elegance of Japanese textiles — soft florals, delicate peacock feathers, and those soothing, timeless patterns that make stationery lovers smile.

Each pencil case is handmade in Dorset, stitched slowly and thoughtfully in my home studio. I choose every fabric with care, working with small UK suppliers who specialise in Japanese prints. I love imagining where these pieces will end up; tucked into a journaler’s tote bag, brightening a desk, or becoming a little everyday treasure for someone who adores beautiful stationery.

Inside, you’ll find our signature tangerine wipe‑clean lining...a tiny burst of sunshine every time you unzip it. And of course, the details matter: a soft suede tassel, a colourful zip, neat stitching, and cotton that feels comforting and familiar.

These pencil cases are designed to be both beautiful and practical. Whether you’re journalling, planning, sketching or simply gathering your favourite pens, I hope they bring a little joy to your everyday rituals.
